Hudson County Science Fair

Since 1959, the annual Hudson County Science Fair has been The Jersey Journal's vehicle for furthering the scientific minds of Hudson County, NJ students.

Participation in the Hudson County Science Fair has often served as a precursor to impressive accomplishments in science. As many as 600 students from Hudson County's middle and high schools compete in challenging categories ranging from Behavioral Science to Gerontology.

Apart from personal fulfillment, students compete for a chance to win scholarships, prizes, medals and other awards. Two extraordinary finalists go on to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Held annually in May, the Intel ISEF brings together more than 1,200 students from 40 nations to compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prize - a trip to attend the Nobel Prize Ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Jersey Journal takes pride in sponsoring the Hudson County Science Fair, which cultivates the young scientists of tomorrow.

Past community sponsors of the Science Fair have included Hoboken University Medical Center, PSE&G, Liberty Science Center, Goldman Sachs, Comcast and many others, all of whom have realized the importance of such programs within the community. Sponsors such as these provide gifts and other educational prizes to the winners.
